4.2 adds three balls and new break effects
Every ball now comes apart in its own color and material, with its own sound.
September 21, 2026. Sliceball 4.2 is an update for iPhone, iPad and Android. It adds three new balls, gives every ball a break effect that matches its material, and opens the game with a short intro.
Three new balls
Atom, Buckyball and Split Metal join the shop at 500, 750 and 1,000 coins. With nine balls, the shop grid now scrolls.
A redesigned eyeball
The old eyeball skin had an iris painted onto its texture, so it rolled with the ball and could show two. The new one is a real eye that always faces the camera, and it winks every so often.
Breakage that matches each material
When a level fails, the ball comes apart. In 4.1 every skin broke into the same white wireframe pieces. In 4.2 each skin breaks into fragments of its own color and material, with its own sound: wood splinters, metal shatters, the bomb goes off.
A new opening sequence
The game now opens on a few seconds of the MayBolt wordmark and a lightning strike before the menu. Players can tap through it from the moment the bolt lands. With Reduce Motion on, the strike is a glow.
Fixes
Tapping Pause could register as a slice and cost the run. Touches over the interface no longer cut. Retrying a level on a first attempt could leave the ball frozen. The privacy policy link in the game went to a dead page. All four are fixed.
The camera follow was tied to the frame rate and is now smoother on 120 Hz screens. Failed loads used to stick for the rest of the session. They retry on their own now. The game no longer signs in to Game Center at launch, only when the leaderboard is opened.
Analytics that follow your consent choice
Version 4.2 adds Google Analytics for Firebase, so the studio can see how many people play and for how long. It follows the same choice made for ads: where the law requires a consent form, declining covers analytics too. A Manage Ad Consent row in Options lets players change their mind. The privacy policy lists exactly what is collected.
