In one sentence

Sliceball is a one tap timing game: hold to slice down through a stack, let go to drop the ball, and land it on a safe layer. Over 200 levels.

The longer version

There's one control. Press and hold, and a blade works down through the stack a layer at a time. Let go, and the ball drops. Some layers are safe and some aren't, so the whole game is deciding when to lift your finger. Release early and the ball never lands. Hang on too long and it comes down on a red layer and shatters.

That's it, on purpose. A level takes 10 to 20 seconds. A miss costs you the retry and nothing else, and the next stack is already waiting. The stack starts out as a pad of yellow sticky notes; the shop swaps it for cheese, notepaper, poker chips, cards, cartridges, or vinyl, and swaps the ball for eight others, all paid for with the coins the game hands out on every clear.

Sliceball was built for the minute you have while the kettle boils. It works on a plane. It never asks you to sign in, and it doesn't send notifications. If you're stuck on a level, spend coins to skip it, or just try again.

Skip rocks past logs and off ramps. Flick, steer, and tap for a Perfect throw. Skim needs no account, and keeps your progress on your phone. It's out now on Google Play and coming soon to iPhone.

Pull down from low on either side of the screen, then flick up when the sweeping marker hits gold. Steer with your thumb. Tap each time the stone touches the water: gold for Perfect, white for Good, gray for Sloppy. Steer around rocks and logs, hit ramps for a super skip, and fly through the fire hoop for a fire boost. Grab arcs of coins and watch for the bell buoy. Coins unlock new throwers and odd things to skip. The Skim page has the same clips.

A narrator named PAL runs this mobile game, and his job is to keep you playing. He is not good at taking hints. Play the way he asks and he walks you through a tutorial. Stop, run backwards, leave the app, or turn the phone over, and he notices. Every choice moves the story toward one of 18 endings.

PAL pivots between five fake mobile games when you misbehave: an endless runner, a match 3, an idle clicker, a gacha, and a one button hopper. Four optional dares, a staring contest, holding a button, doing nothing, and the world's longest ad, each have a secret ending. Subtitles are always on.
